Charles Humphrey Keating IV was a United States Navy SEAL sniper born on February 26, 1985. He was killed in action on May 3, 2016, while engaging ISIS forces north of Mosul, Iraq. For his bravery, he was posthumously awarded the Silver Star, which was later upgraded to the Navy Cross. Keating is noted for being the third U.S. military service member killed in action during Operation Inherent Resolve, following two other service members.
