Charles Owens, born on June 6, 1972, in Alexandria, Virginia, is a prominent American jazz tenor saxophonist. He grew up in a suburb of Washington, D.C., attended the Duke Ellington School for the Arts, and furthered his education at the New World School of the Arts in Miami. In 1992, he moved to New York City to study jazz at the New School. Owens has collaborated with various musicians and created film music for 'Fly Trap'. He currently leads a trio in Charlottesville, Virginia.
