Kenelm Charles Everard Digby Pepys, 8th Earl of Cottenham (1948-2000), was an English peer and sportsman. Known as Charlie Cottenham, he succeeded as Earl at 19. A cricketer and equestrian, he played for Eton and toured the West Indies. After competing in eventing, he helped Mark Todd win Olympic gold in 1984. He ran English-language schools and had four children, including his heir, Mark Pepys, 9th Earl of Cottenham. His family seat was Priory Manor, Wiltshire, and he was a member of the House of Lords from 1969 until 1999.
