Charles L. Raison is an American psychiatrist born on December 26, 1957. He is a professor of psychiatry at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and holds the Mary Sue and Mike Shannon Chair for Healthy Minds, Children & Families. Previously, he was a professor at the University of Arizona, where he was the Barry and Janet Lang Professor of Integrative Mental Health. Raison is the founding Director of the Center for Compassion Studies and the Director for Clinical and Translational Research at the Usona Institute, also serving as a mental health expert for CNN.com.
