Charles N. Shira was an American college football coach and athletic director, best known for his role as head coach at Mississippi State University from 1967 to 1972. He led the team to a record of 16–45–2, with his notable achievement being the Southeastern Conference Coach of the Year award in 1970. Shira served as athletic director at Mississippi State both concurrently with coaching and solely until his death in 1976.
