Charles Maitland Yorke Trotter was a prominent British sports shooter and photographer born on 8 February 1923 in Edinburgh. He represented Guernsey and Kenya in various shooting disciplines, gaining notable achievements in both. Trotter served in the Royal Engineers during WWII, then studied photography, establishing a successful business in British Kenya. He competed in the 1956 and 1960 Olympics and returned to Guernsey, where he won H.M. The Queen's Prize in 1975. Trotter also earned a bronze at the 1982 Commonwealth Games, marking his legacy as one of Guernsey's most decorated athletes.
