Rear-Admiral Charles Bernard Williams (1925-2015) was a Royal Navy officer known for his engineering service during World War II, particularly on Russian convoy ships and during the Normandy landings. He was awarded the OBE for his contributions at HMS Sheba, where he repaired ships involved in the blockade of Beira. Williams chaired the Whitbread Round the World Race from 1981 to 1990 and received the CB at his retirement in 1980 while serving as Flag Officer, Medway, and Port Admiral at Chatham Naval Base. He was also involved in restoring the Dutch lugger STV Astrid.
