Charles Edward Brandon was an American football player and an accomplished lineman in the CFL, notably playing seven seasons with the Ottawa Rough Riders. After starting his career with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, he played in the semi-pro Norfolk Neptunes before returning to Canada. Brandon was part of the renowned 'Capital Punishment' defensive unit, winning two Grey Cups and being named an all-star in his final season. He was recognized as the Grey Cup MVP in 1973 and passed away at the age of 78 in Virginia Beach.
