He graduated from National Chung Hsing University and holds a master's degree from National Chengchi University and a doctorate in political science. He has worked at Academia Sinica and held positions such as associate professor at NCCU's Department of History and an adjunct associate professor at National Taipei University. His research focuses on modern Chinese political thought, post-war Taiwan political history, the February 28 Incident, and political cases during the martial law period.
