Chi Onwurah, born on April 12, 1965, is a British politician representing the Labour Party. She has served as the Member of Parliament for Newcastle upon Tyne Central since the 2010 general elections. Onwurah held the position of Shadow Minister for Industrial Strategy, Science, and Innovation under Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn from October 2016 until April 9, 2020, when she was appointed Shadow Minister for Science, Research, and Innovation by the new leader, Keir Starmer.
