Chiharu Kon is a Japanese ceramic artist born in March 1951 in Nagaoka City, Niigata. After graduating from Musashino Art University, he studied under Tsuji Kiyoshi to learn Shigaraki pottery. He creates various works, including tea utensils, flower vases, and sake containers, often incorporating different styles like Shigaraki, Hahaku, and Seto black pottery. He has held solo exhibitions at several prestigious locations in Tokyo. Alongside his artistic career, he has also produced calligraphy works. His wife, Yoko Kon, is also a ceramic artist, and they jointly run a pottery class.
