Chioma Ajunwa is a Nigerian athlete and football player born on August 25, 1970. She is notable for being the first African and Nigerian athlete to win an Olympic gold medal. Her athletic prowess was evident in the early 1990s as a sprinter and long jumper, but she faced a doping suspension that sidelined her until 1996. After her return, she won the long jump event at the Atlanta 1996 Olympics with a leap of 7.12 meters and also competed in the 4x100 meters relay.
