He is part of the famous sertaneja duo Chitãozinho & Xororó, alongside his younger brother Xororó. Known affectionately as Chitão, he has three children from two marriages. In 2019, he became the ambassador of the Rio Araguaia and performed publicly with his son Enrico on a Globo TV show. Chitãozinho continues to impact Brazilian music and culture significantly.
