Chizuko Tominaga (born January 18, 1942) is a scholar of African history and a former professor at Miyagi Gakuin Women's University. Born in Mie Prefecture, she graduated from Tokyo Women's University in 1964 with a degree in Western History. She later completed a master's program in International Relations at Tsuda University in 1982. Tominaga also attended the doctoral program in International Relations at the University of Tokyo but did not graduate. Her research specialties include East African and Swahili history.
