He held various academic positions, including associate and full professor at Takasaki City University of Economics and Senshu University, and was a professor at Tokyo University of Foreign Studies from 1970 to 1989, during which he served as president. He was influenced by Hisashi Otsuka and edited the collected works of Tanshu Ishibashi.
