Chō Yukio (June 14, 1924 – January 30, 2007) was a Japanese economist known for his contributions to modern Japanese economic thought and financial theory. He was born in Tokyo and graduated from the Faculty of Economics at Tokyo Imperial University. He held various academic positions, including associate and full professor at Takasaki City University of Economics and Senshu University, and was a professor at Tokyo University of Foreign Studies from 1970 to 1989, during which he served as president. He was influenced by Hisashi Otsuka and edited the collected works of Tanshu Ishibashi.
