C. Ammanna Raja, also known as Chodagam Ammanna Raja, was a prominent Indian freedom movement activist and a member of the Rajya Sabha from Andhra Pradesh. Born on June 6, 1909, she was educated in Rajahmundry and Madras. Active in politics, she served in the Madras Legislative Assembly and was instrumental in the abolition of the Devadasi system. Post-retirement from politics in 1968, she focused on women's welfare and education, significantly impacting many children's lives. She passed away on February 22, 1999, in Secunderabad, surrounded by family.
