Choe Ryong-hae (born January 15, 1950) is a North Korean politician and military commander. Since 2019, he has served as the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly and First Vice Chairman of the State Affairs Commission. He is also a member of the Politburo and a deputy head of the Workers' Party of Korea. Additionally, he is the second-highest-ranking military official in North Korea and the father-in-law of Kim Jong-un's sister, Kim Yo-jong.
