Choi Dong-ho, born on August 26, 1948, is a prominent South Korean poet, critic, and professor. He studied Korean literature at Korea University and served as a professor emeritus after his retirement. Choi published his first poetry collection in 1976 and gained recognition as a critic by winning the Joongang Ilbo New Writer’s Contest in 1979. He is known for his works on Eastern poetics and coined the term 'geukseojeongsi', focusing on evocative short poetry. He is currently the president of the Society of Korean Poets.
