Choo Mi-ae is a South Korean politician born on October 23, 1958, in Daegu. She has been serving as the Minister of Justice since January 2, 2020. Choo is a member of the National Assembly, representing Gwangjin-gu B, a district in eastern Seoul. Previously, she was the chairperson of the Deobureo-minju Party from 2016 to 2018. In September 2020, she faced criticism over allegations of attempting to secure preferential treatment for her son concerning military service.
