Chou Lan-Ping, born Yang Xiaogu on February 16, 1926, in Xiangxiang, Hunan, was a significant Chinese composer and lyricist in modern Chinese music. In 1949, he relocated to Taiwan with the Republic of China government. He was married to Li Huilun and had two children, Zhou Yangzheng and Zhou Yangming. Chou contributed greatly to the evolution of Chinese music during his lifetime, leaving a lasting impact in his field.
