Christian David Thomas, born on September 9, 1959, is a prominent entomologist and a former president of the Royal Entomological Society. He holds a BA in Applied Biology from the University of Cambridge, an MSc in Ecology from the University of Bangor, and a PhD from the University of Texas at Austin. Currently, he is a Professor in the Biology Department at the University of York and the Director of the Leverhulme Centre for Anthropocene Biodiversity, a transdisciplinary research center established with a funding of £10 million starting in 2019.
