Christopher John Downy, born on 29 March 1955, is a former Australian politician. He served as a member of the Liberal Party in the New South Wales Legislative Assembly, representing Sutherland from 1988 to 1997, and was the Minister for Sport, Recreation and Racing from 1993 to 1995. Downy was involved in local politics, becoming a member of Sutherland Shire Council in 1983. Though he faced early electoral challenges, he became a significant local figure within the Liberal Party and was appointed state president in 2012.
