Chris Mears is a retired British diver born on February 7, 1993, in Reading, England. He competed in both individual and synchronized diving events for the City of Leeds Diving Club. Mears became a British champion in 2010 and achieved significant success at the junior level, including medals in the European Championships. Despite suffering a life-threatening injury in 2009, he made a remarkable comeback to the sport. Mears won a gold medal in synchronized diving at the 2016 Olympics in Rio and announced his retirement in August 2019 to focus on his music career.
