He played college football at Indiana and later in the NFL for the Cleveland Browns during 1972 and 1973, and the New Orleans Saints in 1975. Morris participated in 22 NFL games, with one being a starter. Additionally, he played for the Memphis Southmen in the World Football League in 1974.
