Chris Peters is a Dutch mathematician born on March 8, 1949, in Hillegom, specializing in Algebraic Geometry. He obtained his Ph.D. in 1974 at Leiden University under the supervision of Antonius van de Ven. Peters has held various academic positions, including assistant at Leiden since 1969, post-doctorate at Harvard, and professor at Leiden from 1979. Since 1994, he has been a professor at the University of Grenoble I. He has also served as a visiting professor at several prestigious institutions such as the Institute for Advanced Study and UCLA.
