Chris Riddell is a British illustrator and author known for his children's books and political cartoons for The Observer. Born on April 13, 1962, he has won the prestigious Kate Greenaway Medal three times (2001, 2004, 2016), making him the only author to achieve this feat. Riddell has also been a finalist for the British Book Award for Best Illustrated Children's Book on two occasions. In 2015, he was appointed Children's Laureate, recognizing his contributions to children's literature.
