Christopher Mark Sievey was an English musician and comedian born on August 25, 1955, in Ashton-on-Mersey, Sale, and passed away on June 21, 2010, in Wythenshawe, Manchester. He was the frontman of the band The Freshies in the 1970s and became known for his character Frank Sidebottom in the early 1980s. Sievey regularly appeared on British television in the late 1980s and early 1990s as Frank Sidebottom, including work as a reporter for Granada Reports and hosting the TV show Frank Sidebottom's Proper Telly Show.
