Chris van Esterik is a Dutch journalist and author born on December 17, 1949, in Ingen. After high school, he moved to Amsterdam to study political science. He became a freelance journalist and authored non-fiction books, including a biography of politician Jaap Burger in collaboration with Joop van Tijn. He has served as a literary critic for NRC-Handelsblad and contributed to the NPS series 'De Oorlog'. Currently, he is working on a book about his native Betuwe region covering the years 1940-1970.
