During his studies, Eklund played with bands like Grapes of Wrath and Slims Blues Gang. He worked at Sveriges Radio as a producer and was involved in various music projects, including collaborations with notable artists like ABBA and Rolf Wikström. He has been a board member of the Swedish Jazz Federation since 2011.
