Active since the late 1960s, he has commented on contemporary issues with humor and sharpness through collages, posters, and photographs. Themptander has published around twenty books, including political and poetic art books as well as children's books. He was involved with Nationalgalleriet in Stockholm and is recognized for his influential poster 'We will never forget Wounded Knee,' featured in the Graphic Imperative Exhibition.
