He belonged to an old southern French noble family and was initially influenced by late Cubism. Later moving to Paris, he became an assistant to the Surrealist Hans Bellmer. D’Orgeix exhibited his work for the first time in 1955 in Berlin and developed ties with notable German artists. His works are categorized as Surrealism but are more realistic in nature, often incorporating humor and reality-based themes.
