Christian Fredrik Skau is a Norwegian mathematician and professor emeritus at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). Born on June 23, 1939, in Skien, he studied physics at NTH and earned his master's degree in mathematics from UiO in 1969. He obtained his doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania in 1973. Skau worked at UiO from 1974 before moving to NTNU in 1977, where he became a professor in 1993 and retired in 2009. He has also held visiting professorships at several universities and has interviewed all Abel Prize winners since 2003.
