John Christoph Parry is a British author and Germanist, born on May 17, 1951, in Cambridge, England. He has been a professor of German literature at the University of Vaasa since 1996. Parry studied German Studies, Russian, and Art History at the University of Edinburgh and spent a year in Marburg. He earned his M.A. with honors in 1973 and completed his Ph.D. in Marburg. Before settling in Finland, he worked as a lecturer in various positions and received a D.A.A.D. scholarship for his doctoral studies.
