Taylor held various academic positions, including Fellow at Magdalen College and Tutor in Philosophy at Corpus Christi College, Oxford. He also served as a Loeb Fellow at Harvard. His scholarly work includes a comprehensive treatise on hedonism in Greek thought and translations of key philosophical texts by Aristotle, Socrates, and Plato.
