John Christopher Glazebrook Hodder-Williams was a British science fiction author, musician, and composer born on August 25, 1926, and died on May 15, 1995. He served as an officer and pilot in the Royal Corps of Signals from 1944 to 1948. After a short stint in publishing, he moved to New York in the 1950s to write music for Broadway. A return to Britain saw him contribute as a music journalist and jazz pianist while also writing thrillers and science fiction novels, sometimes under the pseudonym James Brogan.
