Christopher Martin is an accomplished American trumpet player, appointed principal trumpet of the New York Philharmonic in May 2016. Beginning his tenure in September of the same year, he has had a distinguished career, previously serving as Principal trumpet for the Chicago Symphony Orchestra (2005-2017) and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra (2000-2005), among others. Known for premiering significant works, he notably performed Christopher Rouse's Heimdall's Trumpet in 2012. Martin utilizes a variety of high-quality trumpets and mouthpieces during his performances.
