Chandler worked for the Chicago Sun-Times and WBBM Channel 2, where he received an Emmy for a 1968 documentary. He founded and edited multiple publications, including the Chicago Journalism Review, and authored two books related to civil rights and politics. He passed away on March 26, 2019.
