Christopher Walkden was a British swimmer born on April 18, 1938, in Edinburgh. He was a member of the Beckenham SC swimming club based in London. Walkden competed in two Olympic Games, debuting in the 1956 Melbourne Summer Olympics, where he finished fifth in the 200 meters breaststroke heats. At the 1960 Rome Summer Olympics, he reached the semifinals in the same event and placed seventh with the British 4×100-meter medley relay team. Walkden achieved his major international success at the 1958 Commonwealth Games, winning two bronze medals.
