Christopher Michael Wathes (May 1952 – 6 May 2016) was a British research scientist specializing in agricultural and veterinary science. He held a BSc in physics and a PhD in environmental physics. Wathes served as chairman of the Farm Animal Welfare Council and was a Professor of Animal Welfare at the Royal Veterinary College. He contributed significantly to animal welfare and environmental management for livestock. Wathes received several honors, including an OBE in 2013 and the UFAW Medal posthumously in 2016. He was married to Claire Wathes.
