CL, born Lee Chae-rin on February 26, 1991, in Seoul, South Korea, is a South Korean singer, rapper, songwriter, and record producer. She spent much of her early life in Japan and France. Known for her powerful influence in the K-pop industry, CL was trained at JYP Entertainment before officially joining YG Entertainment. She became a member of the South Korean girl group 2NE1, which was formed in 2009 and gained significant popularity for their music and style.
