Clarence D. 'Lucky' Lester was an American fighter pilot born on February 23, 1923, who served in the 332nd Fighter Group, also known as the Tuskegee Airmen, during World War II. He was among the first African-American military aviators in the U.S. Army Air Corps and later the U.S. Air Force. Lester is notable for shooting down three enemy aircraft on a single mission while flying a P-51 Mustang nicknamed 'Miss Pelt.' He shares this achievement with Captain Joseph Elsberry, making them two of only four Tuskegee Airmen to earn three aerial victories in one day.
