Claude Auger was a Brigadier-General and the 34th Canadian Surgeon General. Born on February 8, 1951, he graduated from Laval University and joined the Canadian Armed Forces in 1970. Auger had a distinguished military career, serving in various medical roles including during the Gulf War. Promoted to Brigadier-General in 1998, he held the position of Surgeon General until his retirement in 2000. Following his military service, he worked as a general surgeon and with the Canadian Medical Protective Association. Auger passed away on December 16, 2007, after battling cancer.
