Claus Koch is a German jazz musician born on May 1, 1967, in Altenkirchen, Westerwald. He plays the tenor saxophone and is also a composer. Koch studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz and furthered his education with Barry Harris in New York. He founded his band, The Boperators, in 1996, blending influences of bebop, Afro-Cuban music, and soul jazz in his work. He collaborates with notable musicians and currently performs in multiple groups.
