John Cledan Mears (8 September 1922 – 13 July 2014) was the Bishop of Bangor from 1982 to 1992. He studied at Aberystwyth University and was ordained in 1947. Mears began his career as a curate in Mostyn and Rhosllannerchrugog before being appointed vicar of Cwm. He served as a lecturer at Cardiff University from 1959 to 1973 and subsequently became a vicar in the city. Mears was a conscientious objector during World War II and later became known as a peace advocate.
