Clem De Ridder was a Belgian activist, composer, and writer born on June 24, 1920, in Opwijk. He was a prominent figure in the Flemish movement and served as the secretary-general and chairman of the Davidsfonds. In 1966, he co-founded the OVV. De Ridder's contributions include playwriting, radio and television scripts, and texts for the Flemish National Singing Festival and the IJzer Pilgrimage. He was also known for writing numerous song lyrics, many of which were set to music by Emiel Hullebroeck.
