Coen Janssen is a Dutch keyboardist born on April 2, 1981, in Oss, Netherlands. He has been a member of the band Epica since its formation in 2002. Janssen began playing the piano at the age of eight and dedicated himself to it after high school. He studied at the music conservatory in Rotterdam. He missed the 2010 North American tour due to family reasons, and again in 2015 due to his wife's cancer diagnosis.
