Comrade José, born Víctor Quispe Palomino on August 1, 1960, is a prominent Peruvian communist militant associated with the Militarized Communist Party of Peru, a faction of the Maoist guerrilla group Shining Path. Identified as one of Peru's most wanted terrorists by DIRCOTE, he claimed succession from Shining Path founder Guzmán. In a 2009 interview, he admitted involvement in violent acts and commanded child soldiers, prompting government actions against the group. His family's history with Shining Path influenced him, and he led a force collecting 'war taxes' from drug traffickers.
