Connie Renea Kunzmann was a professional basketball player who played in the Women's Professional Basketball League from 1978 to 1981 for the Iowa Cornets and Nebraska Wranglers. She transitioned from six-on-six basketball in high school to full court in college. A Wayne State College athlete, she represented both basketball and softball teams. Tragically, she was murdered in 1981, which gained national attention. The Nebraska Wranglers honored her memory after her death, continuing to win the WBL Championship that year.
