Constantin Petrescu is a retired Romanian gymnast and acclaimed gymnastics coach born on January 8, 1951. He competed in eight events at the 1972 Summer Olympics and won consecutive National Champion titles in 1972 and 1973. Petrescu defected to the United States in 1988, where he began a successful coaching career. He coached numerous national team members and was instrumental in USA gymnastics, notably achieving a perfect 10 in the 1998 National Championships. Petrescu holds a master's degree in physical education and has coached at several prestigious institutions.
